As a future teacher some really important assets you can use as resources are websites. These websites can help kick start ideas for some curriculum you are going to teach or maybe just a helpful resource for your students to use. I have developed a "Tool Box" with some of the websites that I feel are good to use and can help future teachers and their students as well.
I decided to organize my web sites using Mindomo because I think its a really efficient way to do it. I think it is very user friendly and quick. I personally don't like having to search trying to figure out how to get to the websites. I like things that are very easy to use and get along with. I felt this was the best tool for that. How I decided which websites to use was a difficult process. I just kind of put together some assignments I would give my student's and thought of different ways they could accomplish those assignments using some of the different websites to turn those assignments in as well as just good resources to help them gain information. Overall, I just tried to find websites that were good resources for both teacher and the student. I also tried to incorporate good technology websites you can integrate with the health/pe curriculum.
How I will use my "tool box" as a good resource for future assignments as well as good information I can pass onto fellow students and even teachers. It's a good way to organize websites that become useful to me in a quick and easy way. I forget things very easy, especially when it comes to all these websites. With this tool box it really helps store all these great websites in a good place where only you can access it if needed and you want it that way. I can share my tool box with other teachers by giving them the link to my tool box as well as sharing how to use it so they can create one as well. I think it's a cool thing to put on the web for future teachers so that if they need help finding some good ideas for lesson plans or anything related to the physical education/health field they can find it on this organization tool. It's a great way to share information.
The first website that I think is very useful is P.E. Central. This website is great for lesson planning. It has every subject and a lot of different ideas for lesson plans as well as already done lesson plans you can look into and include into your curriculum. One of the things that i specifically liked about this website was how it gave really good anticipatory sets and ideas for different sets for different subject areas. As a teacher sometimes it's really hard to find a way to grab the students attention, this site is great for that.
The Second website I really liked was the physical educational resource website. This website was really great for finding group building games. Sometimes as a P.E. teacher it is very hard to find ways to make sure that every student feels included because some students are better in certain activities than others. Well, this website has great resources for that. I found it really interesting and helpful.
The third website that stuck out to me was the teachers corner website. The thing that specifically stuck out to me was the teachers forum. What this forum does is it gives a place where teachers from all over can share ideas about different curriculum to help each other out. I actually know a teacher that uses this website. It is a good way to gain feedback as well. Sometimes as teachers I think it is good to find ways to receive feedback for certain assignments besides from the students. Students can give you bias feedback. I just thought as a teacher this would be a very useful tool to help share ideas as well as gain information about others and connect with other teachers from across the world.
